Leo in her owl onesie, my fave beach playsuit and fedora and Fox wondering where the hell it all went wrong

SOMETIMES YOU JUST GOTTA DRESS LIKE AN OWL

April 29, 2019

What to wear to the beach can be a perennially taxing question. Although not if you’re six, apparently. It was hard to argue with Leo’s decision to dress like an owl for a beach trip in a onesie-esque costume, a gift from our lovely friend Omaira (she has three daughters so possesses super-human knowledge of what young girls like. I can now answer definitively that they like owl costumes).

While Leo firmly makes the case for adopting the guise of a small, nocturnal woodland bird (tan-lines be damned, although to be fair the towelling-like fabric is surprisingly practical, post-dip), may I propose this airy playsuit? It’s loose enough to be comfortable on the hottest of summer days, and strikes the perfect midpoint between beachwear and polite company-appropriate attire, so is enormously versatile. And while an owl hood will definitely keep the sun off, I’ll stick to my favourite fedora (this is my third, having sadly lost two to sea and pool). So, playsuit or owl-suit, we’ll see you at the sea!
